Nyman's 12AT '85 Cosmo Coupe
« on: March 07, 2011, 04:17:05 AM »
Hi guys

Took a little while - but I got one. 1985 model, 12AT with 5 speed manual.

Looks pretty tidy, currently sitting at Kawasaki Port in Japan, ready for transport to Australia. Will arrive in Australia on the 28th of March.

21 days and counting....

Nice work. =D

Different to see a rotary coupe with fixed headlights. Are they standard?

Yes, they are.

From what I have been told, 1984 onwards 2 door Cosmos are mostly fixed headlights.

You guys may want to shoot me for saying this - but I want to change the headlights over to popup headlights, instead of the fixed ones.

Also considering swapping out the interior for the grey interior.

I would be in two minds about the swap. I think that the pop up headlights look alot better, but after going to all that trouble to find a mint HB would you want to change from factory?? =|

I personally prefer the red interior over the grey but like the headlamps, it's your car, your call.

Its a bit like blowing up a 12AT engine from being stupid, you deserve to be fuked up. Dont fuk with a standard original car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fixed headlights look tuff on a S2 coupe, they will grow on you.

Or just have both S1 coupe and a S2 coupe.

Im working on it =D

Problem is - I don't have space to store a 4th car, nor do I have the cash to buy a 4th car should one come up.

I'm going to be keeping all of the original gear to change it back if I ever want to - but I don't see it as violating the vehicle - merely changing between standard factory options that were available at the time.

are you sure bro? coz mines a factory 1985 12at s2 coupe and it has pop up headlights from factory so that must mean mines quite rare if its ment to come with fixed headlights

Popups were an option for S2 coupes.

Im pretty sure after going thru the EPC2 the pop ups were only an option on the S2 piston coupes not rotary.

Might be wrong but no part numbers listed for S2 rotary coupe  =|
