Robanthons FE (T)
« on: May 22, 2009, 07:06:45 PM »
Im changing my Ma engine for the FE.

The FE engine is finaly out of the car.... Im going to change the pistons and rods
(got the low-comp FET pistons and rods thanks to Allmaz).

New waterpump, everything new in the top. Im going to run it with a DTA S60 PRO engine managment computer. I will only use the original air intake and modify it to use a open cone air filter. I`v also bought DTA twin coil, watertemp sensor, 2bar map sensor, triggerweel for the ignition, new stronger clutch, oilcooler ++++++.

Pictures???

Very soon.

Nice! This thing will be awesome when done!

What exhaust manifold and turbo are you considering using?

Ill have to see how the engine works with the DTA (HP???)  and what compression i get.
The exhaust manifold will be home built.
The guy who is going to map (NA) says that with the 2 bar map sensor, a T3/4 (loading 0,5-0,6bars) and a intercooler he guarantees 170-180 Wheel HP. Thats about 200 engine HP. And stil reliable...

What are the low comp pistons out of? An 8 or a 12 valve FE?

There is a guy on here running a turbo FE on the standard pistons and a T3 (I think)

The pistons and rods are from a 8v FET.

Comp 8,5 i hope....

The guy with the turbo FE runs with a very basic set up. I want things to be reliable, therfor i build it to last...

Yeah me neither, those FE's are soo underrated.

I wonder if the GD Mazda 2.2 FE block would fit under the hood of an HB :D

just bang the 2.2 f2 head on the motor... 12 valve fe/f2
it can be done. no mods. only thing you will need to do is find a rwd 12valve f2 head, rare but pop up every now and then.
